COSY, COMFY, CUSHIONS!!!

Hi Earthlings!! Its Friday!! Cheers to the weekend!! I'm extra happy because its a long weekend in Ireland. Thank God! Much needed break. 

Today it’s all about cushions and having fun with them.

CUSHIONS! CUSHIONS!! CUSHIONS!!! When I think of the effect of using the right cushion, i tend to think of the finishing touch lipstick adds to your makeup (for ladies) or the finesse of a clean well cut suit (for the men). That’s exactly what cushions do to your lounge. They are extremely versatile and the easiest way to redecorate your lounge without too much hassle and without a big budget.

If you’re like me, you probably drool over beautiful prints and patterns on Pinterest or in magazines. The real task is incorporating these into your living space. One way to incorporate this into your home is to mix and match. I love most especially mixing different patterns and prints of similar colours. Remember to keep all other furniture simple and neutral.

GENDER NEUTRAL

If you have a partner, you definitely don’t want him walking into princess land. So, it’s better to incorporate patterns and colours that lift the living space without being too manly or overly feminine. A good colour combination is yellow and grey.

TEXTURES

From cotton to silk to fur, never be scared to combine several textures. This will make your home look both cosy and modern.

SIZE MATTERS

If you’re going for the formal, official look, having all your cushions in the same size may be the way to go.  However, for a home, a welcoming look would be most preferable. Have your cushions in different shapes and sizes to achieve this homely look.

ANKARA

“Ankara is Life” Africa prints are a good way to add a pop colour and incorporate an African theme into your lounge. You can use the same patterns and prints or you can also mix and match. Just play around with it.
